A similar technique could be implemented in the apply-log option of InnoDB Hot Backup, but we have not done so yet. Usually it could be a good idea to run apply-log after copying the files off the database server, before archiving the backups. There, the duration of the operation should not be that critical. Restoring from such a ‘prepared’ backup would be just a matter of copying files.</description>

I have a table with indices. After I truncate the table and re-populate, will the indices remain intact and be updated automatically as soon as it gets re-populated? If not, what can I do?</description>
